Marcella is a self taught tattoo artist living and working in Philadelphia, PA. She currently works at Now and Forever Tattoo, a womens’ only collective in Kensington, but her tattoo journey started in 2018 with the very first hand poked tattoo she did on another person. Immediately Marcella fell deeply in love with the craft and spent the next year evolving her existing art practice into something that could turn into a career in tattooing. In the fall of 2020, with the help of her partner, Marcella opened her first private studio space in South Philly and adopted the name MothMommy. Within a year, Marcella built up a dedicated client base. She quit her job in food service to tattoo full time and began traveling to work in other cities from New York and Baltimore to London. In the Spring of 2022, Marcella met Kristel Oreto, owner of Now and Forever Tattoo, and joined her team. Marcella’s current work is inspired by scientific illustration, Greco Roman sculpture, medical history, and vintage art.
